    [Highly rated reviewer]

The first episode of this TV 2-parter is a fairly solid hour which sets up the story and ends on an appropriate enough cliffhanger, to leave the viewer anticipating what part 2 will bring. It tells the story of an average couple, played by Ashley Jensen and Max Beesley, who come across a life-changing opportunity if they are prepared to commit an awful deed first. Jensen is very strong as the lead and the Kafkaesque story only leaves one or two questionable parts which of course, for all we knew, would still be tied up in part 2.

However, as good as part 1 was, part 2 was bad. It's like it was written by two different people. And, who knows, maybe it was.

Unrealistic bit after unrealistic bit, the dross just kept on coming. How disappointing! Jensen's high level of acting was still there but there's only so much you can do with a script like this. Even a high speed police car chase was thrown in at one point, to which Beesley casually says to Judd after he's assaulted an officer and escaped, 'It's okay, I'll just tell them I was drunk, or had a bit of gear on me, or something'. Oh, well that's okay then!

This really is one to definitely give a miss as the 2nd part becomes so painful to watch you find yourself wondering how it even got commissioned.

I won't spoil the story in case you do decide to watch it. But, if you do, I'm afraid you'll be disappointed to see that, unfortunately for us, the writer already has.

What a good film. It was compelling right from the very start. I loved the twist. I would watch this film again.
