Family Fun
By a customer from Leicester, UK , 25 Mar 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
This is one of those rare comedy treats where everyone from Grandma down to little Sarah can get together and laugh for a couple of hours.
Full of witticisms (for the more discerning viewer) and slapstick choas, with a bit of suspense thrown in and a pace to match, you won't be disappointed.- Was this review helpful to you?

(8)GOOD HONEST FUN
By a customer from TUNBRIDGE WELLS, ENGLAND , 29 Nov 2010A ragbag of old jokes, cinematic in-jokes and cartoon-style sight gags that passes the time most agreeably. None of it really makes much sense as the film possesses a decided identity crisis in wavering between slick Hitchcockian (To Catch a Thief) movie thrills and outlandish slapstick. Yet Peter SELLERS is an undeniably funny man - one of the best - almost as good as Jacques TATI. Herbert LOM's characterization of an exasperated chief inspector slowly descending into madness at his inability to get rid of the stupidest gendarme in all of France. Not one of SELLERS' best comedies but always worth a look.- Was this review helpful to you?

Customer Review
By a customer from UK , 23 Jun 2008I'm not sure this is the brilliant film as everybody says it is, but it is good and very funny!
The begining keeps you watching, but the middle is so good that you don't need to worry about that anymore. It keeps getting funnier through the film, although Peter Sellers seems to look about 20 years older (not 10), however the Clouseau character is getting BETTER and FUNNIER!
Still, it's a BRILLIANT FILM!- Was this review helpful to you?

More Sellers Classic comedy
By Anthony Bolton from Bolton Lancashire , 20 Sep 2006What can I say that No Peter Sellers has said already about the panther movies?
Simply sit back and watch the fun unfold, You won't be diappointed.
Very rare to be able to have all the family present whilst watching movies these days but Peter Sellers as the wacky Inspector will have you laughing all the way to the end!
Classic comedy at it's best.- Was this review helpful to you?

Dated........
By a customer from North Wales , 15 Sep 2006Whoever harps on about these being classic pieces of Sellars I am sure, is doing him an injustice. Whilst I am sure, in its day, these were top of the tree, today they seem dated and have not held time well.
For a bit of nostalgia, they are worth a look but dont expect any more than that- Was this review helpful to you?

Better than the new one!
By a customer from a chair , 22 Aug 2006Not that that's saying much. I always loved this as a child... and still found it pretty funny tho the chilish slapstick wears a bit after a while/if you're in the wrong mood. I'd thought this was the best PP film probably because I knew it best, but I now think the previous one was better (Shot in the Dark)- Was this review helpful to you?
