Edge of your seat terror... definitely lived up to expectations!
'The Ring 2' picks up six months after the horrifying events that terrorized Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts) and her son Aidan (David Dorfman) in Seattle.
To escape her haunting memories, Rachel takes Aidan and moves to the small coastal community of Astoria, Oregon, to start fresh. However, Rachel's resolve quickly turns to dread when evidence at a local crime scene - including an unmarked videotape - seems eerily familiar.
Rachel realizes that the vengeful Samara is back and more determined than ever to continue her relentless cycle of terror and death.
I gotta say I was sceptical about this film. I thought it was going to be...less entertaining than the first one as is almost all 'number 2' movies. Well, I can say it wasnt as entertaining as the first one but I believe this is because we know the concept now, so number 2 has no new surprises really. I suppose in number 2 you may ask 'how is she going to stop this 'horror' for good' but thats about it. I liked the film, there were bits that made me jump but that was due to the loud bursts of music as opposed to the actual image on the screen. I wouldnt say the Ms Watts was selfish, she wanted to protect her son; what would any other mother do? Anyway its not real so i suppose its irrelevant. During the film I did find myself saying 'OBVIOUSLY DONT do that' or 'if you leave him alone, something WILL happen' Dah! But overall its good...the most scariest part for me was when Samara was climbing up out of the well...that was creepy! Overall an Okay film and Im glad I watched it. Im glad they added the extra features which shows how we came to the opening (?) scene with the teenagers.
Japanese movie director Hideo Nakata is to team up with Taka Ichise - the producer of horror remake The Grudge - for a new project entitled Inhuman. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film is based on a real-life murder case and could be in the same terrifying vein as The Ring Two, which Nakata previously directed. The two are veterans of the horror genre; Ichise includes production credits for the originals and remakes of The Grudge, while he also helped to write the screenplay for... Read more
