The Ring Virus Details

Not another Ring remake...

When I noticed this advertised in my film mag, I was interested to find out what this was about. I fairly soon realised that this was a Korean remake of Hideo Nakata's original Japanese film, and I mean remake - i.e. the story is almost identical. For those of you who haven't seen either the original or US remake (where have you been?), the film is about a cursed video that promises to kill its watcher exactly one week after they have finished the tape. The film then follows a relative of one of the tapes victims as she tries to solve the riddle before its too late. I really can't recommend this remake, especially if you have seen Hideo Nakata's original, since it is such a blatant copy. The biggest problem here is the fact that they have managed to copy a great horror film and remove all of the scares - that just doesn't seem right!! My advice is still to stick to the original or even the US remake.

Pointless remake.

If you've seen the original Ringu,don't even think about hiring this.An absolute aboimnation of a film.

I wish I was like the girl who could walk through the tv screen.I would walk through the director's tv and give him a good punch in the head for making this heinous rip off.

I am going to go through my list to make sure that I don't have any more Asian horror films on there because after The Ring,The Grudge,and The Eye,there is nothing but a bunch of really lame rip offs and remakes,and this is one of the worst.
