The Roman Spring Of Mrs Stone
Helen Mirren (THE QUEEN) stars as Helen Stone, a woman who seeks solace in Rome after the death of her husband. Here she meets the Contessa and escapes her fading youth, beauty and career, through a series of flings with young gigolos. She falls hopelessly in love the handsome Paulo, but her desire for a future with him is even more hopeless. Based on the Tennessee Williams play.

Vivien Leigh gets degraded again in this rambling novella complete with mysterious dark stranger waiting at the end. Nice to look at, and occasionally compelling, but unsuccessful as a whole.
