Characters from Nickelodeon's popular TV series Rugrats get their own movie in this fun feature-length animated adventure. Whoopi Goldberg, Tim Curry and David Spade are among the celebrities lending their voices, as cute toddler Tommy Pickles persuades his pals to help him return his new-born brother, Dil, to the hospital so that he can have his parents all to himself again. Of course, their journey doesn't go as planned, and the youngsters end up in a scary forest where they come across a group of circus monkeys who kidnap Dil. Messages about bravery and friendship are well mixed in with the fun so as not to spoil the enjoyment for children, and there are plenty of laughs for adults, too, especially in the various movie homages, including superb spoofs of famous scenes from Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Fugitive. Indeed, Nickelodeon conducted “parent-focused research” to make sure the movie had enough “multi-generational appeal” to guarantee box-office success. The result is a treat for all the family.

just as much for the grown ups as for the kids, all loved it on a wet day. Not sure who it's really aimed at the kids or us.
