The runaways
By a customer from Here & Now , 10 Sep 2010[Highly rated reviewer]
I am too young to remember the Runaways, but had heard of them as I grewup, but to this day couldn't name any of their songs. This movie I thoroughly enjoyed, with excellent performances by Fanning and Stewart as the 2 lead figures.I never new how the Runaways career panned out so it was sad too see what eventually became of the them. If you like true stories, rock n roll, and a good movie, make sure you see this.- Was this review helpful to you?

Worth a watch
By a customer , 23 Mar 2013I really liked this movie and it was pretty blunt about where these kids came from and what they had to deal with during their fame - good film though and funny in some parts- Was this review helpful to you?

Life In The Fast Lane
By Robinski (152 reviews) from Glasgow , 28 Dec 2012An entertaining story of the rise and fall of The Runaways with excellent lead performances by Stewart and Fanning as the mainstays of the group, Joan Jett and Cherie Currie. The story itself is a very familiar one, no less so because it is no doubt largely true of the arc of many well known rock bands - in fact look closely and you will see striking comparisons with Spinal Tap, but what Christopher Guest did not stretch the limits of his fiction to are the wild-eyed antics of crack-pot impresario Kim Fowley, brilliantly played by Michael Shannon. Among the many fresh faces on show is one who was the child protege of her day, Tatum O'Neal (ask your mum), daughter of Ryan O'Neil (ask you gran), as Cherie's mother. Enjoyable stuff, if not family fare, and not one to watch with your 16 year old daughter (eeuw!).- Was this review helpful to you?
