The Sacrifice review

I lived in Sweden for five years and I took the trouble while there to learn the language and my wife is Swedish. Therefore I keep an eye out for good svensk films. I inform my choices sometimes by the reviews available from EasyCinema. It is often amusing to see different people's points of view, but you can't just judge all of them by what you read. The most sensible review I read of this one was to watch it in fast forward. Yes there are some good bits of cinematography. But that is about it. I wouldn't recommend this film to anyone. It may make sense to someone, but apart from a depiction desolation and (an incomplete) portrait of disrepair there is nothing to it (for me). The most interesting point (apart from a spectacular shot of a house burning to the ground) was watching a mass of people (probably film students) run randomly round one of the sets (I found myself thinking what their advice from the director would have been). A waste of a rental.
