    superb

this film is superb. Mathayus, an Akkadian mercenary, is assigned to kill Memnon's sorcerer, who gives him tyrannical powers. He sneaks into Memnon's camp and finds his way to the sorcerer's tent. However, his plans change when he discovers that Memnon's sorcerer is actually a beautiful sorceress called Cassandra.

He shoots one of the guards, and is about to kidnap her, when he is discovered, and his brother is killed right in front of him. Just as he is about to be killed, Cassandra protests, saying it would not be wise, because the gods favour him, and to kill him would bring misfortune.

Now free again, Mathayus decides to avenge his brother and kill Memnon.

He gets into Gomorrah, with the help of a thief, who earlier on saved him from a gruesome death by fire ants.

With the help of the thief and a little boy, Mathayus sneaks into Memnon's castle. He gets into Cassandra's tent and kidnaps her.

He discovers he can use her as bait to catch Memnon.

During one of Memnon's attempts to kill Mathayus, he is shot by an arrow with scorpion venom, thus the term Scorpion King. Mathayus faints from the pain, but his life is saved by Cassandra, who believes he can save the people and free them from Memnon's tyranny.

As their journey continues, they meet up with Balthazar the leader of Memnon's enemies and the two join forces.

During a celebration at Balthazer and his people's camp, Cassandra has a vision of Memnon destroying the people and killing Mathayus.

After a romantic night with Mathayus, Cassandra returns to Memnon.

Mathayus and Balthazer go after her, and a huge battle between Memnon and his armies, and Mathayus and Balthazar and his people takes place.

At one point in the battle, Mathayus gets shot by another arrow but miraculously recovers, and uses the same arrow to try to kill Memnon.

i am not going to tell you if he succeeds or not, because that would spoil your enjoyment of watching the film.

    well worth renting out.

Not even bad enough to be good.

Ridiculously terrible. Plays like an episode of Hercules or that bloody warrior princess. Awful acting, special effects and plot. Absolutely nothing for viewers with a mental age greater than 10. Avoid like leprosy.

    Sting in the tail

Well, what can I say, if you have chosen to rent this movie then it is probably for 1 of 2 reasons, you are a fan of the "Rock" or you enjoyed "The Mummy 2" and thought you would check this out as well.

If you are a Rock fan then you will probably enjoy this movie, he is centre stage for the most part and gets his one liners in with the grace of the Californian Governor, read into that what you will!

If you are a fan of "The Mummy", and you like a bit of an adventure flick then this is an okay attempt to take your mind off things for 1 hr and 27 mins! It's not particularly original, Bad Guy wants to take over the world, but good guy wants revenge for the death of his brother! Good guy gets the girl!! But it is a bit of a return the adventure flick of old.

I have to say that, I will pretty much sit through anything, and as long gives me a little escapeism then I'm a happy camper!! Uut of 5 I guess it deserves a 2.5 to 3.

    Enjoy

    Good action romp

I like The Rock, since WWF days, okay he is a bit of a fish out of water, and for some reason his character traits seems to be very similiar to the the character he plays in Welcome to the Jungle but he is a superb action star, with his transistion from WWF or should I say WWE helping in the fight scenes. His comic sidekick is a pain in the arse, I've seen him in much better films. If you like the Mummy films, its good to watch how the Scorpion King became. Plus its worth watching the bonus section to see The Rock lay the Peoples Elbox (albeit by accident) on his co-star!

Good fight scenes but not as enjoyable as the Mummy, which it spinned of from. Reasonable performance by the Rock.

A great film if you're a fan of 'The Rock' and even the Mummy films. A high budget movie that's very predictable but hghly enjoyable all the same. Anyone with a fear of snakes beware... Lol.

I expected it to be more like the Mummy films but it was okay. The Rock's performance was pretty good but he has been acting in the ring for years so its not that big a jump for him.
