This is a seminal series - excellent writing, excellent acting and lots of fresh directional ideas. I thoroughly enjoyed it when it previewed at some God forsaken hour on Channel 4, and it stood up very well to a second dvd viewing. It's sort of like an Australian 'This Life', except everyone's a bit less miserable (probably because they get to see the sun more than once a year). Sometimes the voice over is a bit hammy (think Carrie at the end of SATC) but on the whole this is one of the most astutely observed dramas I've seen in years. Please Channel 4 buy in Series 2 and 3!
