Sorry, it didn't do it for me. Although the preview and the cast looked good, I found the film disappointing. I haven't read the book but I thought there was no real development to the story or the characters in the movie, and it just became a bit boring.
I'd read and loved the novel and was a bit worried that the film might spoil it for me but not at all. This is a beautiful film about finding your place in society and in the family. A 'women - bonding' film without the cheesiness of Steel Magnolias. And if your a little bit pagan, you'll love this. I cried all the way throught it, twice. But that's me!
