All about the acting

It has to be said that this movie has a pretty bad script. Some of the dialogue is terrible (eg the numerous dick monologues) and the story makes little sense. The budget looks to have been the lowest possible. HOWEVER, it features two wonderful actors, possibly two of the top five best character actors around just now (John C Reilly and the handsome William Fichtner) and they really elevate the material, perfectly inhabiting their roles. It is great to see them for once in leading men roles (after usually being second fiddles) and there are some funny moments. I'd say it's worth a rental.- Was this review helpful to you?

Unsettling??
By Benro from Exeter, UK , 10 Aug 2007Really enjoyed this one, a grifter sort of affair. Suspected it would be at least half decent given the cast, but also that it might be slightly B-movieish which it was, in a charming sort of way. It was totally engrossing though, shifting upward in pace and sideways in plot with superb timing. A low key delight.- Was this review helpful to you?
