A 26-foot-tall (7.9-metre) Marilyn Monroe statue has been unveiled in Palm Springs, California after a week-long trip across America from its former home in Chicago, Illinois. The Forever Marilyn piece cost over £25,000 to transport to the desert, where it will remain until June next year (13). The Seward Johnson sculpture recreates the scene from Monroe's 1955 film The Seven Year Itch, during which the actress' white skirt blows up as she stands over a New York subway grate. Read more

She’s spent the entirety of her adult life hanging with Hugh Hefner at the Playboy Mansion (I’m indebted to the imdb for the information that technically this makes her a Playmate, not a bunny, but you know what, “The House Mate” doesn’t work so well as a title). Anywise,... Read more

    The It Girl

    • 12 Mar 2007

The producers of Factory Girl, which opens in cinemas this Friday, did one smart thing. They found a genuine twenty-first century It Girl (Sienna 'Drugs are f*** loads of fun' Miller) to play a 1960s variety (Edie 'Sex and speed. Wow' Sedgwick). But what is 'It', and who else has got 'It'? Sienna herself is not much help ('I've never understood the definition,' she told a USA Today reporter recently.) But then neither was Clara Bow, the original It Girl back in 1927, who also claimed not to... Read more
