Just to warn you all.. The Smurfs are secondary characters in this as it is a film version of the very first Belgian comic they appeared in.

Bit of a European comic book Geek.. sorry!

Also, all voices, animation etc are very different to the cartoon you all remember. Bit of a deceptive cover.

I did have this as a kid, however, and LOVED it. It hadn't aged well in 1985, and I doubt it looks any good these days. Anyway.. it's prob the best Smurf narrative! HAHA!

There are DVD box sets of the series out too if you really want the retro hit.

Yeah.. I gave it 4 stars cos I love the Smurfs. Sorry!

I was 7 when this came out, and still love it as much today as I did then. Its got everything that a family will enjoy, good humour, brilliant cuteness, all good stuff

The worst movie ever! The voices are not good, definetely not suitable for kids as kids cant understand what they say or even what the movie is about.

A great letdown. You do not even see the Smurfs until halfway through this really painful film. I struggled to watch it in 2 sessions so I wouldn't like to think how long a child would be able to cope with this film - 70 of the longest minutes I can remember.
