Well not really, but her Riefenstahlesque life study statue is the centre point of the first half of this typical Dietrich exotica.

This first half is quite engaging for its pre-Hays, rather overripe glamour. It becomes more predictably melodramatic toward the end.

Still, it's 1933. It's Dietrich. It's Mamoulian. It's a wonderful print. As such, it's treasure to savour.
