TV at its best
By a customer from Glasgow, Scotland , 23 Jun 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
Perfection. Why waste time and money going to the cinema to see one and a half hours of rubbish when you can stay at home and see 13 hours of the best scripts, direction and acting you will ever see? You can't fault this.- Was this review helpful to you?

(56)Not bad but nicely sets up the fifth series
By Bassman71 (630 reviews) from Didsbury, England , 24 Oct 2012Fourth Season of the award winning HBO drama with more twists and turns.
On a par with the third series although theyve tamed down on the sex and violence a little but the writing is as sharp as ever.
Christopher and Adrianna getting quite a bit more screen time as their lives get darker and the race horse story with Tony and Ralph is enjoyable.
Interesting way to end the series with Tony and Carmela which should make good viewing for the next series.- Was this review helpful to you?

The Best So far
By Bullybass (52 reviews) from Exeter , 21 Oct 2009I Watched the whole series during the years it was televised and decided to watch the entire series again from the start. The Sopranos is one of the very few series that improved with each season and I think series 4 contains many of its most memorable moments including some brilliant humor, although you will need to be very observant to see some of the subtle visual jokes. James Gandolfini is superb throughout and surely there is no other actor who can portray the 'just woke up from the night before' look so brilliantly.
The series never tires of it's depiction of the tensions caused by a mob boss trying to also maintain a proper family life. Because of the type of people being portrayed in The Sopranos there are inevitably some violent scenes but these are relatively few and never superfluous to the storylines or sensational. If you like the classic gangster genre then you will almost certainly like The Sopranos, although you probably already know that. If you are not familiar with the genre then you should check it out as this is the series that set the bar for the now celebrated HBO and its risque television production values.- Was this review helpful to you?
