The Spanish Main
By a customer , 23 Jul 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
I first saw 'The Spanish Main' in 1946 when I was 13 years old! At that time, it was truly a spectacular, adventure/romantic film and left such an impression that I was eager to see it again sixty-six years later. My husband had not seen it previously and we both enjoyed a swashbuckling couple of hours. It was good to see old favourites in a film which has largely been ignored. The only downside is Maureen O'Hara's make up - totally out of place for the period but then any glamour was allowed after drab 2nd World War days. So - yes - don't be prejudiced - allow yourselves to be swept along in the turbulent days of The Spanish Main.- Was this review helpful to you?

(2)Glorious old film
By NoIdonthaveanickname (65 reviews) , 26 Aug 2012Fabulous, well made film, full of colour, swashbuckling and lovely hair, just like it should be. Completely forgot I had seen it many years ago, but loved it even more the second time around. It even gives Errol Flynn films a run for their money.
I think I might even buy it and add it to my 'wet Sunday' collection.- Was this review helpful to you?
