I have seen this film more than once and it is one of those feel good films that you just keep coming back to see over and over again. The acting is spot on from the very start and all the characters have a life that does not look like it has been manufactured for 90 minutes of film. Peter Dinklage is brilliant in the central role of Finbar, a dwarf who feels he cannot mix in society until he is pulled out of his shell. Patricia Clarkson gives another fantastic performance as a grieving mother who is finding it hard to keep any relationship going.

This is a charming small town drama with some touches of humour that is guaranteed to leave you with a warm feeling. The fact that it does not try to give you all the answers to life's disappointments just makes it that much more real.

This is a film that demands multiple viewings, and each time you see it you will get more from the experience.

Highly recommended.
