So much better than the original

The cannibalistic family are on the road with their own mobile cooking van - perfect for making chilli! Dennis Hopper is the Texas sheriff hunting them down and Caroline Williams is the unfortunate female caught in the middle of it all, as well as caught in the sights of Leatherface - although it doesn't look as if he wants to slice and dice her....

This film is great on so many levels. it doesn't allow itself to get too serious, but at the same time tries hard to develop the psychotic families personalities even more. You will see more to Leatherface in thios film than any other.

The highlight of the whole film is the ridiculously cool chainsaw duel, with Dennis Hopper battling Leatherface head to head at the family dinner table in a junkyard, parrying and jabbing like you would expect in a sword fight.

Don't expect to take this film seriously, and if you loved the way the first film left you leaving you in the dark about the family, then this film may not be the best for you...

This is decent, not the same kind of film as the original, much tamer with more jokes. TCM fans will love it. THE THIRD INSTALMENT OF THE TRILOGY IS BETTER.

It was also obviously the inspiration for Rob Zombies House of 1000 Corpses.

A re-make of the original was released in 2003, starring Jessica Biel, Jonathan Tucker, Erica Leerhsen and Eric Balfour. The Silence Of The Lambs, with Sir Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster, was voted in second... Read more
