A show about how the British government is actually run, with the tyrannical heads of communication from both parties calling all the shots. This is a must see for anyone with even a vague interest in politics and or satire.
If you liked the other series then this one won't disappoint. Malcolm Tucker is at his hilarious best with some truly breathtaking swearing. a must see (once you've seen the other episodes).- Was this review helpful to you?

(4)The good times
By a customer from Sunderland , 30 Jan 2011It took me a long time to watch this DVD - lost in the morass of misery evoked by the new Government. It brought back memories of the times when the series was on air - better times.
The humour lightened my mood, the memories made the misery disappear for hours. And it was 'laugh out loud' funny.- Was this review helpful to you?

Brilliant INTELLIGENT Comedy
By JKW (5 reviews) from Nottingham , 29 Jul 2010This show is pure comic genius. If you like high brow comedy shows like Yes Prime Minister/Minster, Steptoe and Son, Hancock's Half-Hour and The Phil Silvers Show then this show is for you. But, if you're into dumbed down comedy like Two Pints of Lager etc. then stay well clear because this show would be far too clever for you to follow.
Peter Capaldi is absolutely spellbinding in his role as (Enforcer/Spin Doctor) Malcolm Tucker - yes he does use the F word a lot but that's what contributes in making this real life entertainment. Backed up by a superb supporting cast this class comedy is a must see!! In fact Malcolm Tucker reminds me of a modern day version of Sergeant Ernest G. Bilko with all his conniving and manipulation. Brilliant show.- Was this review helpful to you?

The Thick of it
By a customer from Ipswich Suffolk , 07 Jun 2010An absolute load of rubbish. If this was meant to be entertainment, then God help us! Within the first 10 minutes I found Malcolm Tucker's foul mouth ranting and bullying so annoying that I was praying to see someone put him flat on his back with a mouthful of teeth. Not in the same league as 'Yes Minister.- Was this review helpful to you?
