Fun For All The Family
By BarryNormansLoveChild (1 review) , 26 Sep 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
I loved the Three Investigators books when I was a child back in the '70's so it was with a feeling of intrepidation that I sat down with my young (10 &12) sons to watch the film version.
The characters keep the same personality as those in the books and the story line remained true(ish) to the original. The setting has been updated to modern times and the gang use a bit of high tech gadgetry (how could they not, it is the 21st C!) but the essence and the innocent fun of the books remain in tacked.
The production values and acting in the film are good and a notch above the TV movie standard I was expecting.
It might not have the big explosions and dazzling effects of the Transformers and the ilk, but it did have a coherent storyline, character development and a charm missing from allot of modern children's films.
I though the film was good and my kids really loved it - if they had written this review they would have given it 5 stars.- Was this review helpful to you?

(2)A winner for pre-teens
By a customer , 10 Feb 2013Watched it with my 11-year old. She loved it. The story is interesting if you bear in mind it's been written with children in mind and there's even a bit of romance in it... A good adventure movie for all the family.- Was this review helpful to you?
