A half-hearted romp by a group of actors to whom swashbuckling is a lost art, this is simply Young Guns with swords, no more than a feeble adventure with little sense of period.
"...As faithful rendition as any....Fidelity here lies not so much in keeping to the plot of the novel as in preserving its spirit, in staging the swordfights with grace and elan..."
"...[The] film comes alive whenever Curry is onscreen....Also aces is Platt....Platt has the sense of relish, experience and tossed-off humor that defines a Musketeer..."
Another example of Disneys ability to capture something in a film which makes it stand out from the rest. As always it features a strong supoorting cast including Sutherland (24)and Sheen (Hot Shots) as well as the always excellent Tim Curry keeping the pace going; it also doesn't fail to add those crucial one liners that just make this film all it is. A family movie that will keep you in awe.
It depends on how seriously you take your movies as to whether you will enjoy this film. Whilst it is not the best adaptation of The Three Musketeers it is highly watchable and a great deal of fun. Charlie Sheen and Keifer Sutherland are excellent as usual. If you willing to accept this film for what it is, a fun adaptation suitable for children then you will enjoy it.
This version of The Three Musketeers is tame and very silly. You would be far better off getting the rollicking classic version of 1973. The musketeers have no sense of danger; the villains just foolish.
Great film to kick back and watch. Tim Curry is superb as the bad guy and there is some great sword fights with some cheesy, comic lines in there too.
All just great fun to enjoy.
A great fun film, Charlie and the gang fighting the bad guys, in tights! mm
A bit of a pain having to flip the disc, but enjoyable.

Great film, fot it for my eight year old who caught the last ten minutes on t.v. She totally loved it, I watched it and enjoyed it - especially Kiefer and Charlie! Only problem was having to turn the disc over midfilm.
I will make this short and sweet - film is great fun to watch but why does it have to be split over a double sided disc so you have to flip it over mid way through!!!
This is a poor remake of the Alexandre' Dumas classic.
Better watch the original.
Very Good Version of the book. Well worth a watch!!!!
GOOD CHARACTERS GOOD STORY GOOD FUN .EXCELLENT FAMILY FILM

This is a good film but it has been ruined by putting it on a double sided dvd so you have to turn it over half way through.....like an old audio cassette.....
