This ruins Dumas' excellent adventure story. The script is complete nonsense with flying ships and gunfights in the sky.The acting is wooden apart from Mila Jovovich and Christoph Waltz who inject some life into the two villains. They are the only reason for seeing this film. The dialogue is almost non-existent.My wife kept looking at her watch, wishing it would end. Instead of an exciting adventure, it became repetitive and boring. The ending seemed to be setting up for a sequel.Don't go-watch the Richard Lester films instead.

Nay so bad Not my first choice, but if you want a light heated movie, well worth the watch :)

I wish I could give this less. It is painfully terrible to watch. How a 2 time Oscar winner (Christoph Waltz) could associate himself with such an awful film is beyond me. Save yourself the misery and skip this.

Okay. Good cast, excellent set building and production BUT. I prefer the other version of this film with Chris O' Donnell as D'Artagnan and Tim Curry as The Cardinal. John Malkovich would have made a better Cardinal I think as he has the right amount of venom and just generally makes a better villain. Milla is great as Milady and always looks stunning and makes her fight scenes look easy. Orlando Bloom as Buckingham adds comedy rather than being sinister. These actors have both had previous swordplay roles and didn't seem to be tested in this, they could have done with pushing harder to get more spectacular scenes. A poor script with too much emphasis on beauty. Even the locations and sets are so ornate and dressed so beautifully, that maybe more could have gone into the direction and script than making things look pretty. Now I don't mind having fun enjoying a film, but there wasn't enough swordplay and the design of the airship was novel but unbelievable. The only decent fight scene for me was at the beginning (4:40). A good production, but poor scripting, characterisation and plot meant that I just got bored and just wanted things to move on quicker and get to the end. If you've seen any of the other Musketeer films, don't bother with this dross.

This is an enjoyable flick. Although there was too much of flying-ship battle and too much emphasis on the 4th musketeer!
