Most helpful review The Tomorrow People - The Medusa Strain

    [Highly rated reviewer]

Medusa Strain suffers from the worst special effect in TP history (and that’s saying something) - the dreaded Medusa itself. Which is a shame, as the script is one of the best ever; our heroes encounter real danger for once, with Carol almost exploded in a horrific death and John & Stephen actually dying for a few moments.

As ever, the commentary from the actors is a real bonus, but it's such a shame that what could have been a really gripping kid's adventure is let down by poor production values an a higher than normal quotient of kitsch.

Tim, John, Carol and Kenny are back again with their new "Sap" mate Ginge from the first series.

We haven't seen the last of Jedikiah the scary shape-change android it seems and he's all set on revenge. Being a lucky kind of android his new mate in hyperspace just happens to have this rather splendid creature which can help (The Medusa). I can't describe it but it probably looked a whole lot better after Ginge's quick thinking makeover!

We get to meet Peter (why does he remind me of Michael Jackson?) an imprisoned time traveller who we will meet again in later series.

Come on we all know the Tomorrow People come out tops but have they finally got rid of old Jedikiah?

Excellent classic TV for all those who dreamed of jaunting, being able to magic up their favourite meal and what fun it would be to be a modern day, reserved and very British kind of super hero.

  • Why did I think this was the best kid's program ever?

Seriously pretentious and hammy. Good for the bad sets and washing up bottle space ships.
