What a terrible film! The plot is so old fashioned and full of male-centric chauvinism, that it lead me to look online after watching it, to see if it is based on Bond-era stereotypes from the 1950s. However it wasn't, and Bond it isn't, as this tale of espionage lacks both humour and a clever plot.
It has been named the worst film of 2010 by several sources; wish I had looked into this beforehand! It has also been said by the director that it does indeed contain humour, but I think this humour was accidental, and ONLY declared in an attempt to redeem the shoddy script; it doesn't.
It baffled me how two good actors ever agreed to 'star' in this terrible remake, although I imagine money had a lot to do with it. Seriously - avoid- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer , 30 Mar 2013Rather silly movie although perfect if you have a crush on Angelina Jolie. It consists mainly of her dressed in different figure hugging outfits and sexy looks to everyone who looks at her. No chemistry between Jolie and Depp so makes for a rather unconvincing romantic tale. Lovely location though.- Was this review helpful to you?

It was just lacking in believing their connection. Either actor should have played opposite another choice and it may have worked better. Still enjoyed it reasonably.- Was this review helpful to you?

a tourist not really

This film was good, but for me the star of this film was not Jolie, or Deep but Stephen Berkoff he always plays the bad guy, but these are the best roles for him. The story and plot was pretty basic. We worked out near the beginning that deep was playing both characters, Jolie was good in a supporting role. The film was not good as thought it would be, but still worth watching.- Was this review helpful to you?
