    By Tegan Kniveton from LOVEFiLM

Heaps of humour and drama raise the stakes in the penultimate film from The Twilight Saga.

Warning: I love Twilight, have seen all the films, and nearly know the books by heart.

Breaking Dawn has the most bonkers plot. When you try and tell people they look at you in disbelief and you have to reassure them that 'No, really, I'm not joking, seriously, that's what happens.'

This book has therefore always seemed pretty much unfilmable so i've been looking forward to this movie with a lot of anticipation...

    and it kinda works.

I don't think this guy is the greatest director, its a bit gushing at times, and some of the werewolf stuff doesn't really work, BUT the most nutty parts of the book were really well handled.

I doubt if this film makes any sense if you're not already into your twilight but if you don't like twilight why go see it anyway?

  • Bit of a Rip-Off

This movie effectively rips off fans of the “Twilight Saga” as the intention is obviously to sell two DVD's instead of one. If “Part One” hadn't been dragged out unnecessarily or continually shifted into exceptionally long “slow motion” sequences, it could easily have been shown in well under an hour, instead of an everlasting 1 hour 50 minutes. Throughout the entire movie, I was wishing they would simply “get on with it”, especially when they spent long embarrassing minutes zoomed in on a character’s face whilst they changed their expression to suit the storyline, but in very, very, slow motion. The special effects and action scenes were excellent, but were mainly towards the end and accounted for a relatively small part of the movie. If “ Part Two” is stretched out like this one, it will be an annoyingly boring conclusion to what should have been a very good series of films.

My wife really enjoyed the film, I thought it was just OK. I suppose if you like all the others in the series you'll like this. Very much the same. Typical sequel. I guess I'll have to watch part 2.

Great film, perhaps need to have seen the other films/ read the books to know what's going on, but it's one that everyone should watch! Lovely soundtrack too.

Even though i do prefer reading the books as its obviously what came first, they tried to make the film along the same lines as the book. A few things here and there which are incorrect, like when Edward tells Bella about his past (this happened in an earlier book), the part with Irina at the wedding and the part with the wolves attack that never actually happened in the book but all in all it was a fairly entertaining film. At times though, i felt like they were trying to squeeze too much into the first part.
