Ignore the US Army bit

This DVD contains a 2-part history of the US Army and Medal of Honour, then a review of 'Special Forces', and finally about 7 biographies of key US Generals.

Well, just ignore those first 3 parts, they are rubbish. The medal of honour part is painful. They just talk about 'some block from Ohio who was very brave', you get a potted version of his medal story, but NO NAME, and only if you're lucky are you told the theatre of combat. Whats the point of becoming famous thru valour if nobody uses your name? That part is simply irritating rubbish and an insult to the brave men that won the medal.

The Special Forces section looks more like a section from a Boy Scouts outing to modern eyes - things have really moved on since then.

However, you should get this DVD for the 7 biographies of key US generals. Its a priceless collection, bringing together information, photos and videos which you would otherwise never see. By watching these videos you not only gain an understanding of the individual character of each general, but also something of the nature of Leadership and command. You can also see the transition in leadership styles and public persona that takes place from the very beginning of the 20th century thru to the 2nd world war and beyond. Excellent material for all warfare buffs.
