(6)The Unbeatable
By Emjay69 (328 reviews) from Kidlington, Oxford , 23 Jun 2011Yet another classic from the John Wayne stable. Good quality film with lots of action. The fights leave a bit to be desired though. I mean, the guy's almost falling before the punch. But that's the only criticism I will make.- Was this review helpful to you?

Rip-roaring action!
By Antiquary (52 reviews) from Aberdeen , 31 Dec 2010Just the thing to liven up a cold winter evening: a fast-moving, action-packed tale of old-style fighting men in situations that test their courage, endurance and loyalty. John Wayne and Rock Hudson, two Civil War veterans who fought on opposite sides, find their paths crossing on the road to Mexico, one with a herd of cattle, the other with his undaunted grey-coated troops whose services he is offering to Emperor Maximilian. (It helps if you know who he was and what happened to him, but if you don't, don't worry: you'll still enjoy the action.) The clash of personalities between the two protagonists - formerly enemies, still rivals, but bound by a grudging mutual respect - makes for an absorbing human drama, adding a dimension to the exciting story. If you're a fan of classic Westerns and haven't seen this one yet, go for it now!- Was this review helpful to you?
