not sure about this film
By a customer from wales , 14 May 2010[Highly rated reviewer]
its very slow, i cant decide if it was ok or not, the story behind it all is very sad but it just never got going. it was like watching short clips of 3 days in the life of a rejected girl. maybe it just needed a beter director.- Was this review helpful to you?

(18)Boring boring
By grumpyoldgit (26 reviews) , 20 May 2012This film had a point to make but the utter tedium of the countless number of scenes where nothing happened just made it all seem arty farty and it totally missed it.
p. s. sorry about the 'Boring boring' title, I just wanted to say 'Boring' but the daft review system insists on at least 2 words!- Was this review helpful to you?

Lucy in wonderland?
By a customer , 07 Jul 2011Lucy lives in an isolated bubble of her own, although she is usually surrounded by people. No one is really there for her. We see the world through her eyes as a baffling place, which is often threatening. The people around her lead their own vibrant and sometimes dangerous lives. Sometimes she is invited to tag along, and sometimes she makes her own attempts to reach out to other people from her past.
It's all totally believable, if a little dream-like.
It's all very well acted, especially by the girl who played Lucy.- Was this review helpful to you?

A triumph of a film
By gingerspike (410 reviews) from Grimsby , 20 Mar 2011A great directorial debut by the actress Samantha Morton detailing (and apparently watering down) her time spent in care as a child. This was a very beautiful yet ultimately sad and despairing film. The parts were largely played with understated authenticity. The character of the young girl was brilliantly played with a distinct air of realism, in what is essentially a true account of a recurring story of life in modern Britain for a growing number of our children. Deserved to be seen by everyone in the country. In fact it should be compulsory viewing.- Was this review helpful to you?

Sad but true
By poppyanna (12 reviews) from Carmarthen , 17 Dec 2010A film portraying the life of a child from a dysfunctional family and taken into care. I found this quite watchable although disturbing to see the hurt encountered by a young person.- Was this review helpful to you?
