What a disappointment

We sent back disc 2 without even opening it up. The Virgin Queen was shown on television while we were away and I thought 'what a treat'; new BBC drama; good actors; wonderful story. We watched the first episode and my preconceptions were shattered.
The pace was wrong, the acting and directing unconvincing. It didn't live up to its forebears - most noticeably that of our MP (Glenda Jackson). Sadly it was too late to cancel disc 2, so back it went.
