The way that family life used to be......By Jim from Bromsgrove UK , 18 Nov 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]I have waited for The Walton?s to be released on video or DVD for a number of years having grown up with the series I am sure that I didn't catch them all.
So Walton fans all over the world will now be able to watch the story of John-Boy, Grandma, Mary-Ellen Jim-Bob and the rest of this very close knit family.
The series tells the story of a large family living on Walton's Mountain during the Great Depression. John Boy Walton, an aspiring writer is the oldest child and the stories are told through him as he makes his way through college and into work.
The Blue Ridge Mountains and the rest of the beautiful countryside where the series was made and filmed are truly spectacular.
In today?s rat race of a world where 1 in 3 marriages fail and children live in split homes this series tells the stories of the Walton family and follows them all growing up. It is a great shame that the world we live in cannot revert to these ?old fashioned? ideals and principles.
If you like good drama this is a must see series.

Sweet, easy viewingBy Lelboy (269 reviews) from East London , 14 Jul 2011Not a lot to say really, other than this is very pleasant 'comfort' viewing. Easy on the eyes and ears, with very nice locations. Nice for a Sunday afternoon when it's piddling down with rain outside!
goodnight jim bobBy a customer , 15 Jun 2011the waltons never realised how much i missed it.takes you back to being a kid.some of the content they were showing in those days are still relevant today.if you are wanting a good feeling storyline then you have to watch the waltons.

The WaltonsBy RB66 (15 reviews) from Gloucester , 24 Apr 2009Oh my, this took me back 20 years. I remember watching this on TV...& I enjoyed it as much today as I did then. I long for a kitchen where all my kids sit around talking about their day & eating home baked pies..I also wish my kids were as obediant as all the Waltons!!!
The WaltonsBy a customer from County Durham , 20 Oct 2008An age old classic that I remember watching as a child with my family, really heart warming program that takes you through lifes ups and downs of John Boy Walton and family..not to mention 'The Baldwin Sister's' and their 'Papa's recipe'. This series of DVD's is something the whole family will enjoy no matter what age.
