This movie IS very good, not happy about the dvd coversion, very poor picture for saying its on dvd, could do with a remastered edition, i think what makes this film stand out is the soundtrack with goes perfect with the film, well worth a watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

Nostalgic
By JoeImprobable (8 reviews) from Inverness , 05 Aug 2009This was my favourite movie as a young teenager and I was expecting to be disapointed when I rewatched it but I could'nt have beeen more wrong! Fantastic music and great humour throughout. It does manage to also keep some of the dark elements of the book so this makes for a very enjoyable experience. This movie should never have been compared to The Warriors as they are totally different. Maybe it was to do with the gang theme and the W thing!- Was this review helpful to you?

Better than Porkies
By vosblod (22 reviews) from England , 11 Jun 2006Well I watched this one again after a fifteen years absence and for pure naivety and lack of subtlety and a great deal of censorship it all came flooding back.
A definate nostalgia trip - think Ferris Buellers Day Off but in an 80's timewarp crossed with Back To The Futre come any old 80's Michael Fox film you care to remember.
National Lampoons Animal House it is not but it beats Porkies any day- Was this review helpful to you?

A nostalgic look back at American teenage gangs in early 60s
By Laurence Scotford from Brighton, England , 20 Feb 2006The nice thing about this film is that we get a real sense of the main characters as individuals and not just gang members, which I would argue is not the case in a gang film like The Warriors, where their journey as a group is the most important aspect. As such you do get to care about them a lot more by the final bitter-sweet scene. The whole thing is stopped from becoming too maudlin by frequent injections of perfectly pitched comedy. Worth revisiting.- Was this review helpful to you?
