John Carpenter has lost his touch!

I decided to rent The Ward purely because it was directed by John Carpenter, when the credits rolled I felt very underwhelmed and disappointed by how lame the film actually was.
Don't get me wrong, this film is watchable, some people will enjoy it, others won't I doubt anybody will love it. But if your going to watch it, don't keep your hopes up like I did, because otherwise you are going to feel strongly disappointed!
I must admit, I was made jump a few times by the usual horror film scares of things jumping out at the characters with a loud noise being made, but these moments were few and far between.
I say give the film a watch, but don't expect it to be the best film you've ever seen!- Was this review helpful to you?

By dafish (41 reviews) from Barry , 14 May 2013the film deafntly has a twist one that i kinda worked out before it reached the end to many things didnt make sense but the way that it worked was kinda cool and by the end it made perfect sense i could have done without the bit right at the end i think it should of been left were it was or if mabey it could of swung in a completey diffrent direction but all in all this is a very good film dont listen to the bad reviews i think they were expecting a horror and not a thriller- Was this review helpful to you?

easy watching

59 minutes in and I just can't take it anymore

The girls talk like modern girls.... dunno why they don't talk to people who were young in the 60s instead of inflicting Kardashian inflection on viewers. Whole thing is boring. Meryl Streep's daughter plays an interesting character. The yucky thing is not scary... just the startling music and drum crash sounds.- Was this review helpful to you?
