Amidst an L.A. landscape of drugs and guns, THE WASH is a comedic working class update of CAR WASH. Written and directed by D.J. Pooh, the film is set to a pounding hip-hop soundtrack, and is populated with numerous rappers including Xhibit, Ludachris, and Eminem.
Mild-mannered Sean (Dr. Dre) is under financial stress, is getting no play from the opposite sex, and is without a car since his just broke down. Dee-Loc (Snoop Dog), his roommate, is a troublemaker who smokes and deals pot and works at a local car wash. Despite their vast differences, their friendship stands strong. Dee-Loc throws Sean a bone by getting him a middle-management job at the car wash. But Sean's easy adjustment to an authoritative position and his positive rapport with the boss, Mr. Washington (George Wallace), immediately puts a strain on his relationship with Dee-Loc. The old friends now find themselves at odds with each other both at home and at work. Personal conflicts are soon shoved aside when Mr. Washington is kidnapped by two moronic neighborhood pranksters. Sean and Dee-Loc unite with their co-workers at the wash to rescue their boss. (Eminem plays a psychopathic ex-employee who terrorizes Mr. Washington.)

It's rather apt that Tommy Chong makes a cameo appearance in this slipshod comedy from writer/director DJ Pooh, as it often resembles the meandering, weed-fuelled vehicles he used to make with Cheech Marin. Rappers Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre head the cast as a couple of losers who briefly sideline their fixation with getting high and pursuing foxy females in order to rescue car-wash boss George Washington from a gang of incompetent kidnappers. Utterly reliant on the kind of African-American stereotypes and clichés that writer/director Robert Townsend lamented in Hollywood Shuffle, this is a lazy film that trades cynically on supposedly subversive chic and the notoriety of its leads.
Cmon gotta understand some1 who likes american comedy will love this. If u like those rappers u will find this film very funny and cool. Watch it support the west coast legends. This is reel.
Think twice, nay, three times before renting this. It is, quite possibly, the worst hip hop comedy ever!
Christian Bale and Russell Crowe took to the red carpet this week for the premiere of their latest movie, 3:10 to Yuma. A remake of the classic western film, 3:10 to Yuma centres on an outlaw (Crowe) and a war veteran (Bale) who become embroiled in a violent journey across Arizona in the 1800s. Also present at the film's premiere were co-stars Alan Tudyk and Ben Foster. Tudyk is well known for his role of Wash in sci-fi hit Serenity, while Foster may be recognisable as the mutant Angel in X-Men: Read more
