  • Unsatisfactory attempt by the Disney people to aim at a wider audience than is expected of them. The mixture of cuteness, menace and the supernatural simply doesn't gel, and the film was much re-edited between its two appearances.

    Too scary for kids

I remember watching this when I was around 8 years old and it haunts me to this day! When I was in my teens I tried to watch it again but was still frightened by it.

A family move into a old house and the oldest daughter keeps seeing an image of a young, blindfolded girl reaching out and asking for help. Everytime she passes a mirror, it cracks and she sees the girl. She starts to investigate and tries to find out who the girl is. Meanwhile, her little sister gets posessed, they meet their freaky landlady (the brill Bette Davis), their car almost gets blown up, and some one is constantly watching them from the woods surrounding their house. Disturbing stuff, and a little dated looking but a good scary film nevertheless.

    Forgotten Kids Classic

I loved this eerie tale when I was a kid and hadn't seen it for years as TV seems to overlook it.I sat down with my own kids to watch it and they were completely engrossed from beginning to end,and seemed just as spooked as I had been 20 years ago. They don't make them like this anymore.
