    Madagascar 2 ? Barely

    It was always going to seem derivative.

    Random collection of animals leave New York Zoo for a trip to "The Wild". OK, it wasn't Madagascar (wrong side of Africa), but it was similar. Except it was lacking life, pace and the jokes for both adult and children alike which characterised Madagascar.

    Saving graces? The little ones liked it, even if the Indian pigeons weren't understood, and Eddie Izzard's ever so camp koala stole the show.

    They're making a sequel to Madagascar. I doubt they will make a sequel to this film.

    Funny = The Wild...

    Possibly the funniest film I've seen in a long time. Great graphics, a really engaging storyline and some of the funniest scenes I think I've ever seen... 'Look I'm a starfish'

    Disney should do better

    Madagascar, Nemo, Lion King etc. throw them all together and this is what you get without being half as good . Awesome animation though, and the kids like it.

    The wild

    this was a good film, with morals behind it about telling the truth. i would recommend it to the younger audience.

    The wild? the wilted

    Madagasgar meets Lion King, but with less story line than a wilted lettuce leaf.

    The Wild

    Could and should have been so much better. Formulaic story (as a storyteller and writer I know what I'm saying!) with formulaic character set. Nice bouncy pace. Nearly a tingly visual contrast with the moments of 'evil ritual' but not developed enough - scared of scaring the kiddies, were we?! - so ends up clunky. Pleasant pap for keeping kids quiet, but not bright ones...
