The Winslow Boy Details

PERFECT EXAMPLE OF BRITISH CINEMA AT ITS FINEST

There may be a certain inevitability to this film, but it is thoroughly enjoyable nonetheless. Much of the credit must go to Robert Donat, who turns in another consummate performance as the high-flying barrister/politician. Donat, always worth watching in anything he's starred in, turns in a bravuro display of emotions to leave the audience hanging on his every word. Given the somewhat predictable turn of events, the cast needed to be at its best, and there isn't a bad performance among them. It's feel-good (eventually) and it's a fabulous reminder of British cinema at its finest.
