Most helpful review
Excellent
By terryduckworth (14 reviews) from London , 12 Dec 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
I found this a lot better than the first series, probably helped by the fact i already knew the characters. Plot lines and acting are fantastic, not a bad actor among them. I cannot recommend this enough. I am not a fan of 'cop' shows, but this and The Shield are the only ones worth watching.- Was this review helpful to you?

(55)A Stunner
By Gulab (9 reviews) , 22 Apr 2013Watched all the series, before writing this. Just superb. Maybe I would benefit from watching it all again ? It was complicated at times. But so 'down to earth', in characterisation. The setting looked realistic, but not having been to USA, far less Baltimore, I can't comment.- Was this review helpful to you?

ONE OF THE BEST
By Brib (9 reviews) , 25 Aug 2012Although almost a decade old The Wire is one of the best series ever. Great storylines, filming and acting. The only suggestion I would make, for people in the UK wanting to give it a try, is to turn on the sub titles.
I initially found the dialogue difficult to follow without.- Was this review helpful to you?

Don't deliberate, just watch it.
By a customer , 07 Oct 2011I went into watching 'The Wire' having heard nothing but good things and I have yet to be disappointed. Although I prefer series one, series 2 is still brilliant. The only thing that really brought it down for me in comparison to the first season were the actors who play Nick and Ziggy, especially the former; he just seemed incapable of conveying any real emotion.
But, that is a minor complaint for an otherwise well acted, well written and well shot series. Some of the characters we are introduced to this series - Frank, the Greeks, Brother Mouzone - are some of the most interesting ones we have yet to see. We also get to see new sides to already well established characters, especially Stringer. And there's more Bunk this time around which is most definately a good thing.
Its fair to say that I am well and truly hooked and I can't wait to see where season 3 goes.- Was this review helpful to you?

Great great series
By a customer , 26 Aug 2011Great great series, can't believe its taken me so long to finally catch up and watch this top quality crime drama. Funny, witty, clever and exciting, a truely satisfying watch, if I was a copper I'd love to go for a few drinks with Bunk and McNulty! Classic- Was this review helpful to you?

OK - slightly dissapointed
By fischer21 (2 reviews) , 06 Jul 2011I thought the second series would have developed the characters more but it seemed to go off on a tangent - slightly disapointed didn't think it was as good as the first season- Was this review helpful to you?
