Most helpful review The Woman in White

  • Not the film of the book

    Rated - 2.0 stars
By John Grabinar from Bromley, Kent , 16 Nov 2010

    [Highly rated reviewer]

Though well made and acted, with good production values, this film does not do what it says on the tin. It bears only a passing resemblance to the original novel by Wilkie Collins, even allowing for the necessary abbreviation. The plot is mangled, and the story is spoiled as a result. And too little is made of SImon Callow's skills in portraying Count Fosco. Don't watch this if you enjoyed the book.
