Best chick flick this year bar sex and the city

This was a wonderful remake of the 1939 classic. And as in the original you never see one man in the movies - though they seem to be the main subject. If you like sex and the city and intelligent lively rom coms then this is for you. It boasts a great cast with some famous cameos. Bette Midler please stand up. Some tear jerking moments about friendship between women and the adorable debra messing scene stealing as the pregnant friend. The birth scene will bring back a few memories. Well worth a watch.

    poor

What a shame, the same old cliches. The one liners were poor. The acting was weak. It was a retake of sex and the city mixed with bambie. it had nothing to offer at all, not even a feel good factor. it was so weak i can't even remember if there was a plot and i only saw it two days ago.

    Painful!

What a disappointment! With a cast of so many female stars, how did this movie not work?!

    1. Story line being so poor and predictable?

    2. Meg Ryan's surgically trout face? Meg Ryan can't pull off her cutesy character anymore with the surgical 'look'.

    3. Too many cliches strung together in one go? 4. Weak dialogue?

    5. All of the above?! Yep, think so...

My view is that this film had all the right ingredients but some were past their 'sell by' date, some weren't measured out properly and some were over-cooked and under-cooked...badly cooked ingredients makes for a disasterous recipe!!

Blame the cook or the ingredients? whatever...it just didn't work!

I'm glad I didn't waste good money going to the cinema.

    A 'flop' in my view.

    Entertaining.

Considering that I watched it on a week night - Tuesday, I found it quite good and the line up of women cast in it was something! Its a feel good movie and thats exactly what it did - made me feel good :)

    Hugely Disappointing!

Myself and 3 friends planned our second night out of the year to see this. Great trailers - but that was it - all the best bits were in the trailers! There was a great line up - however the only star of the film was Bette Midler and so my first laugh was almost half way into the film - but sadly she was only in it for about 5 minutes. The script was disjointed and the acting left much to be desired. It is one film I shall never be tempted to watch again! Rent it if your interested but don't waste your money on buying it.

Even Women would sleep at this Movie

If you were going to make a film about women it should at least be about women who are exciting or have achieved something great. These women are just plain old boring high society gals who sit around and do nothing but complain and gossip......and thats it!! As a man I refuse to believe this is all women do - we live in the day where it is apparently great to be a women but it wasn't emphasised in this film. It's disappointing that you have such a great cast but yet the film doesn't live up to much, it doesn't really tackle anything or any issues. Annette Bening, Debra Messing, Meg Ryan, and Jada Pinkett are all talented actresses and could have made this film a lot more than it really is. The film isn't funny nor heartfelt - its pretty much a snooze and even women would fall asleep at this.

WHAT A LOAD OF OLD TOSH!

I WAS SO HUGELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS AWFUL FILM I FELT COMPELLED TO WRITE A REVIEW.

MEG RYAN, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO YOURSELF? THE FACE IS NOW SO BOTOXED THAT I COULD NOT WORK OUT ONE SINGLE EMOTION. TERRIBLE ACTING.

THE REST OF THE CAST JUST GAVE THE MOST AWFUL HAM PERFORMANCES OF COMPLETE STEROTYPES.

I COULD GO ON AND ON, I WONT. JUST DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!

    Disappointing!

When I heard that Meg Ryan, Jada Pinkett-Smith to name a few, were in one movie, I thought it was going to be fantastic. It's not often you get such great actresses in one movie! However, although it was a fun idea for a story, it actually turned out to be silly, uninteresting and slow. I was actually waiting in anticipation............for the end Really really disappointed!

    The Women

The Women was absolutely terrible why bother with remakes when you cant top the black and white version of the Women. Please filmakers leave classics alone they dont need to be re-made.
