A trio of middle-class African-Americans use one of their number's impending nuptials as an excuse to recall their early experiences in the LA suburb of Inglewood. Cue a series of extended flashbacks that show the friends dealing with school, bullies and girls. Wedding day jitters are a comedy staple, and Rick Famuyiwa's debut feature adds no new spins to the formula. What does impress is the way he steers clear of the usual gangsta/ghetto clichés while wittily revisiting the sights, sounds and outrageous fashions of the eighties.
"...A savvy, good-natured comedy....[The] dialogue is easygoing and witty, and the warmhearted comic performances mesh beautifully..."
This movie is quite funny but I was disappointed with Taye Diggs' acting! And the DVD doesn't include any additional features!
