Set in 1950s South Africa at the beginning of apartheid, free-spirited Amina has broken all the rules of her own conventional Indian community and the new apartheid-led government, by running a café with Jacob, her black business partner. When she meets Miriam, a young wife and mother, their unexpected attraction pushes Miriam to question the rules that bind her to a traditional role. Every few years some director re-hashes the same old tired story of Apartheid, hoping to score with some 'moving portrayal'. Once again, it's really boring and full of cliche's of Africa. Give it a rest...
This film was disappointing, the acting was poor, The dialogue was at times laughable. It sounded promising, but ultimately didn't deliver.It only gets one star because the actresses are easy on the eye
