This is one of them rare TV series that are unique, pioneer and pure brilliance.

The series is not just for us paranormal fans, but for anyone who loves a good mystery or generally an all round compelling TV series.

Defo one that will never age

  • Landmark series which set a standard

I have forgotten what a landmark series this was. Eerie soundtrack and constant groans as evidence is both seen and then destroyed is great. Mulder's low key acting and Scully's constant disbelief, slowly changing to acceptance lends it more reality than many of the copycat follow ups in the following years.

  • Showing it's age.

I remember as everyone does, that at the time this show was awesome. It was scary, David Duchovny was cool, Gillian Anderson was hot and everything was a conspiracy. Unfortunately like most of us it's showing it's age a bit now.

The acting is several shades of either shocked or concerned and (belying it's tv basis) there is no real development because within the first 5 minutes Mulder has linked the mystery to a case from 30 years ago.

When compared to a tv series from the last 5 years such as '24' or more recently 'Leverage' the writing and plotlines are very basic.

All in all it was a good blast down memory lane, but not much else.
