    [Highly rated reviewer]

I thought this film was quite good. I had no idea that the theme tune to this film was Bjork's Play Dead. I knew she wrong that song for A film. So that was a surprise to know which. The story's a very good strong story. The beginning I found a little confusing but after that I got into the film easy enough. It's a gritty story and a kind of heroic one. The lead doesn't play the hero in this film, not as such. Without giving much away, the heroism seems to be a team act between three charactors (yes, the lead is one of the three). Hearing the techno house music of the early nighties. I enjoyed it.

  • Young Americans - a bit of escapism

OK so this is no tour de force or blockbuster classic.

The plot is slightly difficult to follow at the outset and some of the performances are wooden.

However, the location is excellent if you like seeing London on film and there are some well shot scenes.

Thandie Newton is good as well!

In conclusion, worth a rental if you have a liking for British flicks.

  • Weak

I rented this because I love Harvey Keitel but by the end I wanted to pop a cap in his ass.

Set in a grimy part of East End London it tells the tale of an americal Detective from the drugs squad (DEA maybe) who is trying to catch a shadowy drug baron who is now operating in London.

To cut a long story short (and save your time), the plot is weak, the acting poor and the story is boring. You simply end up not caring what happens which is the very opposite of why you take 2 hours out of you life to relax and watch a movie.

    Avoid.
