Another Brick in the Wall
By SLCpunk (32 reviews) from South Glamorgan , 05 Jun 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
There was quite a bit of hype about this little chiller and i was not let down. Fair enough it didn't have that 'je ne sais quoi' but it was very involving and a very good watch.
Equal parts Haute Tension[4.5stars], Creep[1.5stars], Wolf Creek[3.5] and Straw Dogs[3.5] it was a gritty, grimy and tense film that wanted to play on the realism side but couldnt quite beat the urge to go Hollywood here and there. eg. was the beginning set piece really necessary? Who cares it was great!
Lacks a little of the bite some the above films have but makes up for it in tension and great locations, by the end you'll be left a little stunned.- Was this review helpful to you?

(233)Keep Away From Keyholes
By tennsy (20 reviews) from Louth , 04 May 2013I don't know about anyone else but this stripped down french film set in Rumania scared the hell out of me. The palpable terror of the 30 ish couple in the face of motiveless malice from an unknown force was catchinf and I for one will be double locking my front door tonight 9/10- Was this review helpful to you?

Pretty good, but lacks a cutting edge
By Shinko (25 reviews) from South Wales , 07 Sep 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
It seems that any contemporary chiller made in France gets the New Wave Extremity tag these days. In most cases, this pigeon-holing is justified - Martyrs, Inside, Frontiers etc - but Them lacks that certain psychological edge that the films above have in abundance.
Them isn't a bad film as such, it's a good, chilling tale of home intrusion: it's a French Eden Lake, but much more claustrophobic. Unfortunately Them doesn't come anywhere near as close to pushing back the boundaries of modern horror - maybe that was the film makers intention? - but whilst you shouldn't expect a rollercoaster ride in the same mould as most French horror films from the last few years, Them will certainly appeal to, and frighten, those less familiar with what French extremity can produce.- Was this review helpful to you?

Bit of a let down
By NeilS (9 reviews) from Reading , 29 May 2012I chose this in error, but decided to go with it, but really I preferred the film with the same title that was about giant ants.- Was this review helpful to you?

Just don't bother
By reasonstobecheerful (1 review) , 07 May 2012Considering it's only 77 minutes long, this seems like the longest film I have ever forced myself to sit through. Cliched, predictable and poorly made, with a terrible script and even worse ending which tries to link it all together into some futile attempt at making the viewer use a brain cell or two. It's not even entertainingly bad. It's just bad. Don't bother. A good film along a similar theme is King Of The Hill (El Rey De La Montana). That's a good example of how to do it right.- Was this review helpful to you?

Questions of morale featured.
By J0NNi (1 review) , 12 Apr 2012Them is a horror film which has very original ideas which makes it a film worth watching purely for the element of surprise, but then as you progress through the film you realize that this film is much more than that, it raises a lot of questions around morale, the finale especially. It is a film i would recommend to anyone, horror film enthusiast or not, it will stay with you weeks after your view.- Was this review helpful to you?
