Heroine of the Skies,.

This is a very good film, directed by Herbert Wilcox in his
usual assured manner.Anna Neagle is excellent as Amy
Johnson, capturing the spirited determination of the flyer
with great aplomb. Her marriage to the like-minded Jim
Mollison is doomed from the start and here Robert Newton
carries off the role magnificently.
Filmed under wartime conditions,'They Flew Alone' had
considerable constraints but succeeds with style.The
supporting cast, in particular Edward Chapman, deserve
credit too.
