I really enjoyed this flick, fun indie cast that complemented each other well. I'm a big fan of this type of film where we see a group of friends and their lives, tied up in a daft story.
Reminds me of Human Traffic where we get to see what each person gets up to with some in more ridiculous situations than others. I found it a well crafted story with some great one liners (especially the one about Shearer...Alan Shearer)
My only complaint is Dougray Scott. He's a good Scottish actor yet he took on the part of a cocky Londoner....why not just hire a Londoner or have him play a cocky Scotsman? I think his part would have been better as a Glaswegian. 2 thumbs up
Do not bother. Please, please, please do not waste 101 minutes of your life on this. Read a book, start learning another language, take a walk, doze on the sofa, chat with a friend or just watch paint dry but please, please do not watch this film. I did and I want a refund on my time!
Good idea, but it just didn't work. Too many things going on without fitting together or some times making sense. Poor script & cringe worthy dialogue in places. Apart from that it was ok, a good idea, but poorly made.

if this was really it you would not even want to reach 30 - please, please, don't ever make a sequel

I stupidly chose to ignore the long list of bad reviews but I really should have taken note on this one as they were right, this film was pants and I would recommend you avoid it at all costs!
I had no idea what to expect from this film. I had not read the info about it. I REALLY wish I had tho!! I never give up on a film in case it gets better but it just didn't happen in this film!
The only thing it did show well was the friendship that you men have. Ie must see each other every week and the problems some women have with this.
Don't bother with this film or your be as bored as I was.
I thought I might like this since I reached the age of thirty not that long ago and realise that 95% of my hopes and aspirations were no closer to fulfilment than when I reached 20. Sorry I didnt connect with any of the characters. They were all pretty shallow and selfish the only ony one with any soul was the gay one (pink propaganda methinks) oh and the fat married guy poor sod. like others I thought that the storyline was all over the place and the title offered so much more as one who has blew out the candles on his 30th birthday cake I thought I could relate.
Spend your time making a list of goals that youd like to achieve before your next decade comes to you instead of wasting your time with this nonesense.
I am not sure how this film got onto my list but it is a good example of why you should hire films rather than buy them.
At first I was confused as to where the plot was going, although the actors all got on very well together.
The characterisations were pretty fair apart from some unusual London accents but I felt as though I was watching the Footballers version of 'Brassed Off'.
There were the lads with a very ill manager whose son was afraid to show him how much he cared. The team was in trouble, everyone had their own tragic story and the eye candy was pretty reasonable.
I watched it all the way through (I always do) and I must say that it was not a patch on 'Fever Pitch' and it did not 'Bend it like Beckham' for me.
Worth the money but Cup Final quality it is not.
This film is a really slow and cheesy britflick. The acting was wooden and painful and there was no interesting storyline to keep this film alive, aside from the odd chuckles that this film raised, the only thing that kept me watching was the optimism that it would get better. It doesn't and therefore comes highly not recommended.
Really disappointing! All the stereotypes were wheeled out in this one - long suffering girlfriend, philandering, commitment shy 'lad', closet gay (ooh, and he's black too - shock horror!), difficult father/son relationships, pot smoking students, oh, and apparently all men want to have threesomes (and even the geeky ones will find gorgeous women gagging for them). All tied within a loose football theme. On the plus side, it wasn't too long, and some of the football was OK. Oh, and we quite liked the nurse on the motorbike!
Gave up on this film after half an hour. Did not find it in the least bit amusing
