Did these ghosts come from? One with a good dose of evil is all I can say.

Thirteen ghosts is a remake of an old 50's or 60's movie, and incomparison this is about as dark as it gets.

When a down on their luck family inherit the house of an old mad relative they are eager to move in. The spectacular glass house hosts more than just them.

Not as scary as Dark Castles first production (house on haunted hill) it is still quite a frightening experience, occasionally lightened by humourous moments.

    More of a 4 star than 3..

If you are looking for an adult, genuinely scary movie then thirteen ghosts is not for you. If you are a teenager who has seen few horror movies in your time then this might be a good introduction to the genre. Other than that it is difficult to find any plus points here. The plot basically is about an eccentric collector and ghost hunter Uncle Cyrus. His goal is to enslave 12 ghosts in cubes within his purposely built ghost house. The aim of keeping the ghosts in ones house is to power up a machine designed by the devil himself, yes your quaking in your boots now. This machine will allow Cyrus to access the devils eye which will give him ultimate knowledge allowing him to see all things in the past and in the future. The majority of the film takes place in this ghost house which has been left to Arthur, a nephew of lately deceased Cyrus. Arthur, his daughter and son believe things are about to turn around for them having inherited the mystery home not long after having lost their Mother to a fire. The ghosts themselves are not scary, they are like a Walt Disney effort to be honest or something out of Dickens Scrooge. Alot of unecessary loud music, white noise and sparks occur throughout with little impact. A few interesting although dubious facts emerge - you can scare a ghost with a flare (didnt learn that when i was growing up ) and also you can see them through swimming goggles rather than the naked eye ???? OMG ! The majority of the movie is about the main characters running around a shape shifting house while looking through swimming goggles and throwing flares. I wont give away any major twists because their arnt really any to give away.... Enjoy but go for a real horror next time T

I love all horror films, i suppose you could say i am a bit of an addict really! But despite this, i really would recommend this film highly. Even for someone who isn't totally into horror. It has a good mixture of suspense, jumpy bits, emotion and laughs and it keeps you interested from beginning to end, which is a refreshing change! Also, i think that Matthew Lillard plays his character brilliantly! Look out for some of his dramatic scenes! Anyway, enough rambling from me! Watch 13 Ghosts... It's. Really good!

very imaginative with lots of jumpy bits, not majorly scary just as i like it, comical in parts; good film for the less squeamish types.

Not terrifying but quite entertaining! I prefer scarier films stuff like the Ring, Paranormal Activity, etc. but this was quite fun. Worth a watch

I have seen this film numerous times and it never gets old. Its not a horror film, but the supernatural aspect is brilliant. Definitely worth watching.
