Nostalgia trip that's Funny, gritty, and at some times a graphically shocking! Shows a glimpse in the lives of England in '86. Highly recommend viewing but would advise watching 'This is England' first to truly appreciate the casts continuing story.- Was this review helpful to you?

(2)Disturbingly brilliant.
By Roughyed (6 reviews) , 19 Jan 2012Obviously has to be watched in the context of the whole trilogy however the three films together are nothing less than excellent with 'This is England 86' being perhaps the best and most disturbing of the three. Don't think it is exaggerating to describe Shane Meadows and Jack Thorne as the Charles Dickens of their time. Rarely can entertainment and gritty social commentary have been intertwined so seamlessly or effectively. The characters are beautifully created and brought to life by a cast that are, without exception, superb and in Vicky McClure a new star has surely been born. Very dark and uncomfortable viewing at times but quite unmissable despite that.- Was this review helpful to you?
