this film was a load of rubbish a complete waste of time.
As a fan of Shane Meadows work I eagerly anticipated his next film, I was not disappointed.
Set in the 1980s in Thatcher's Britain it shows how skinhead culture developed from a teenage act of rebellion to become a racist violent group of facists. The parallels between the 1980s and now are very apparent and quite disturbing.
This film made me feel deeply ashamed to be British and proud all at the same time. It has left a lasting impression on me. After listening to Combos first speach it was impossible not to compare it to 2007 Britain and the countless conversations I have overheard and been disgusted at but not had the guts to interfere with . In future I will not sit in silence (see the film and you will see why). It shows how the line between british pride and racism can be so easily blurred
As usual Meadows direction was superb and the cast excellent, the only slight criticism I have is that Paddy Considine didnt star in this one!
I would reccommend this film to anyone who has a brain who would be able to understand the ideologies contained within it.
A true Brittish gem, not to be missed.

The year is 1983, and Thatcher is riding a wave of rekindled nationalism on the rump of that victory. Shaun is lonely, vulnerable, and a ripe target for bullies. At an age when his identity is up...
